To preserve cultural heritage, specialists capture what happens before, during and after a festival by interviewing participants, taking photographs and recording audio and video of the event, etc.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 840px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><!--[if lt IE 9]><script>document.createElement('video');<\/script><![endif]-->\n<video data-keepplaying class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-73122-1\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"http:\/\/lorentz.bridginghumanities.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/4_Eyo-Festival_short-clip.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/lorentz.bridginghumanities.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/4_Eyo-Festival_short-clip.mp4\">http:\/\/lorentz.bridginghumanities.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/4_Eyo-Festival_short-clip.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p>For example, Pelu Awofeso has documented the Lagos Eyo Festival (also known as the Adamo Orisha Play) in his work <em>White Lagos: A Definitive and Visual Guide to the Eyo Festival<\/em>, in which he observes participants and uses a narratological approach to document the event in textual form. In my research, I show that the use of digital software such as Tropy and Omeka S, will be useful in both documenting as well as digitising images for mapping and annotation.
